Wiring a Marketplace Ad Platform into a Live Storefront

Integrates an external advertising platform into a live commerce system — insights, promotion and diagnosis — with the spend controlled by the owner and validated before real money moves.

What this is

A merchant who owns their storefront still buys attention on the marketplaces and social platforms where their buyers already are. That means connecting an external advertising platform to the store: reading performance, promoting a product, and diagnosing why something is not working.

This is integration work with real consequences: an error does not just show a wrong chart, it can spend the owner’s money.

How I operated

Outcome and value

The store can read its advertising performance, promote a product deliberately, and diagnose underperformance — with spend still under the owner’s hand and the integration’s failure modes visible. The value is that “run ads” stops being a black box for an owner who cannot afford a wasted budget.

What this shows about how I operate

Integrations fail at the edges — permissions, limits, and money. I separate the safe-to-automate reading from the consequential action, verify against the real system instead of the happy-path doc, and document the boundary between what is live and what is scaffolded. That is the same evidence discipline I applied to release gating, applied to a product surface.
